A kitchen tool should beeasy to find, easy to use.
This statement explains how CuliRock, a brand of Ilias Ventures LLC, works to make www.culirock.com usable for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or voice control. It also tells you what we cannot yet promise and how to reach a person if you hit a barrier.
Everyone should be able toshop, read, and order.
CuliRock is an online-only store with one product today, the CuliRock Meat Grinder. Because our whole business happens on this website, the website is our store. If a customer cannot read a product page, reach the cart, or complete checkout, we have failed that customer.
We are committed to providing a website that people with visual, hearing, motor, speech, and cognitive disabilities can use independently, and we treat accessibility as part of how the site is built and maintained, not as a one-time fix.
We also want to be straightforward. No website is perfect, and we do not claim that every page meets every standard at every moment. What we promise is real effort, honest reporting of known gaps, and a person who answers when you tell us something is not working.
Our accessibility promise
If any part of www.culirock.com stops you from browsing, understanding, or buying, tell us. We will acknowledge your message within one business day and either fix the problem or help you finish your order another way.
Independent use first
We design for you to complete every step on your own: browsing, reading specifications, adding to cart, paying, and tracking an order.
A human fallback
If the site fails you, our team can take your order by phone or email, so a technical barrier never has to end in a lost purchase.
Plain, honest language
We say what is working, what is not, and what we are doing about it. This statement is reviewed and dated whenever our site changes.
Built towardWCAG 2.1 Level AA.
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as our working benchmark for www.culirock.com. WCAG is organized around four principles, and each one shapes how our pages are built.
Perceivable
Images have text alternatives, text meets contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1, and content does not depend on color alone.
Operable
Every control works from a keyboard, focus is visible, and nothing flashes more than three times per second.
Understandable
Pages use clear headings and consistent navigation, and form errors say what went wrong and how to fix it.
Robust
We use standard HTML and ARIA labels so browsers and assistive technology can interpret our pages.
Contrast meter: text and background are tested against 4.5 to 1
What this does and does not mean. Level AA is our target, not a certification. We do not describe the site as “fully compliant” or “ADA certified,” because no federal agency certifies websites. WCAG 2.1 AA is widely used by courts, regulators, and businesses as the practical yardstick, and we measure ourselves against it.
What you can expecton every page.
These are the features we build into and maintain on our Shopify storefront. Where a feature depends on your own browser or device settings, we say so.
Alt text for images
Product photos of the grinder, its three plates, and its attachments carry descriptive alternative text, for example the grinder’s material, parts, and what the image shows. Decorative graphics are marked so screen readers skip them.
Keyboard navigation
Use Tab and Shift + Tab to move, Enter or Space to activate, and Esc to close menus and dialogs. Menus, the product gallery, the cart, and checkout fields are reachable without a mouse, and a visible focus outline shows where you are. Pages begin with a skip-to-content link where our theme provides one.
Screen reader compatibility
We use semantic headings, landmarks, labeled buttons, and labeled form fields so that screen readers can announce the structure of a page. We check key pages with common screen readers, such as NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on Mac and iOS, and TalkBack on Android.
Adjustable text size and contrast
Text is set in relative units, so you can enlarge it with your browser zoom (up to 200 percent) or your device’s text-size setting without losing content. Our pages use dark text on light backgrounds and bright text on dark backgrounds, and they respect high-contrast and dark-mode settings in your operating system where supported.
Reduced motion
Our pages use animation. If your device is set to “reduce motion,” our pages switch the animation off and show the content immediately. Moving banners pause when you hover over them.
Clear forms and errors
Form fields have visible labels. Errors are written in plain language and point to the field that needs attention. Checkout works with browser autofill and password managers.
Accessibility for the CuliRock Meat Grinder listing
Our one product page is the heart of the store, so we treat it with extra care.
- Every specification is written as text, not only shown in an image: 1200W continuous-duty motor, reverse function, three plates (fine, medium, coarse), sausage stuffing attachment, kubbe attachment, and care instructions.
- The price, shipping terms (free within the United States), return window (30 days from delivery), and two-year warranty are stated in text on the page.
- Buttons such as “Add to cart” have clear text labels, and quantity and option selectors are operable by keyboard.
- If you would like the grinder’s specifications, assembly steps, or safety guidance in another format, such as a plain-text email or a read-aloud phone explanation, contact us and we will provide it.
- About the product itself. This statement covers our website. A grinder’s own physical controls, weight, and assembly may not suit every user, and we do not claim the appliance is designed for specific disabilities. Before you buy, you can ask us for dimensions, weight, and control descriptions, and our 30-day return policy applies.
Accessibility is a habit,not a launch task.
We are committed to continuous improvement. Each time we change our theme, add an app, publish a page, or update product content, we apply the same cycle.
Check
We review new and changed pages with keyboard-only navigation and automated accessibility tools.
Test
We spot-check key journeys, from product page to cart to checkout, using a screen reader and browser zoom.
Fix
We prioritize barriers that block purchasing or reading, and we repair them first.
Record
We update this statement and its date when something material changes.
Audits
We review the storefront against WCAG 2.1 AA when the theme changes materially and at least once a year, and we use a mix of automated scanners and manual testing, because automated tools catch only part of the issues. Audit findings are tracked until they are fixed.
Feedback drives priorities
Reports from customers move to the front of our queue. When you tell us about a barrier, you are doing the kind of testing no automated tool can replace.
Where we are stillworking to improve.
Being open about gaps is part of being accessible. These are the areas where you may meet difficulty, and what you can do in the meantime.
Third-party tools
Secure checkout, payment wallets (such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal), the live chat widget, and some store apps are supplied by other companies. We choose providers with accessibility in mind, but we do not control all of their code. If one fails you, contact us and we will help you complete your order.
Older content and PDFs
Older product images, downloadable guides, or manuals supplied by our manufacturing partner may lack full text alternatives. Ask us and we will send a plain-text version.
Visual effects
Some decorative animation may be less comfortable for certain users, even though motion is turned off by the reduced-motion setting. Tell us if any effect gets in your way.
U.S. federal and state rules,in plain English.
We sell only to customers in the United States, so U.S. accessibility and consumer law is our framework. Statute names are given so you can look them up. This is general information, not legal advice, and it never reduces a right you already have.
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III (42 U.S.C. 12181 and following). Prohibits disability discrimination in places of public accommodation. Courts have reached different conclusions on how this applies to online-only stores, and we choose to treat our website as covered. Learn more at ada.gov.
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. This law binds federal agencies, not private retailers. We mention it because its standards are aligned with WCAG, which we follow voluntarily.
- Federal Trade Commission Act, Section 5. Our statements about accessibility, product features, shipping, and returns must be truthful, and this statement is written to meet that standard. See ftc.gov.
- Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule (16 CFR Part 435). We must ship within the time we state, and we offer cancellation and a prompt refund if we cannot. Our timings are in the Shipping Policy.
- E-SIGN Act. We give legally required notices electronically. If you need a notice in another format, contact us.
- Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and Consumer Product Safety Act. Our two-year warranty terms are published before purchase, and we cooperate with the Consumer Product Safety Commission on product safety.
- Unruh Civil Rights Act (Civil Code section 51). A violation of the ADA is also a violation of this Act, and it allows statutory damages.
- California Disabled Persons Act (Civil Code section 54 and following). Protects full and equal access to public places and facilities.
- Contact the state. You can file a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department or the California Attorney General.
- New York State Human Rights Law (Executive Law Article 15) and the New York City Human Rights Law. Both prohibit disability discrimination in public accommodations, and both are read broadly.
- Complaints. File with the New York State Division of Human Rights or the Attorney General.
- Florida Civil Rights Act (Fla. Stat. chapter 760). Our business mailing address is in Florida. The Act bars discrimination in public accommodations, and complaints go to the Florida Commission on Human Relations. Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (section 501.201 and following) also governs our statements.
- Texas Human Resources Code chapter 121 and the Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Chapter 121 protects the rights of persons with disabilities to access public accommodations. Contact the Texas Attorney General.
- Illinois. Illinois Human Rights Act (775 ILCS 5) and the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act.
- New Jersey. Law Against Discrimination (N.J.S.A. 10:5-1 and following) and the Consumer Fraud Act.
- Massachusetts. Chapter 272, section 98 (public accommodations) and Chapter 93A (unfair and deceptive practices).
- Pennsylvania and Washington. Pennsylvania Human Relations Act and the Washington Law Against Discrimination (RCW 49.60).
- Every state. Each state has a civil rights or public-accommodation law and an attorney general who handles consumer complaints. Find yours at naag.org/find-my-ag. We aim to meet the strongest standard that applies to you, wherever you live.
Where to complain outside CuliRock. You may file a disability-access complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice at civilrights.justice.gov. You may also dispute a card charge with your card issuer, or report unfair practices to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov. We would like the chance to fix your problem first, but you are never required to use us before you use these.
