Safe operation

Using the grindersafely, every batch.

A meat grinder has a powerful motor and moving parts. These are general safety points, and they do not replace the instructions that come with your unit. If the two differ, follow the instructions that came with your grinder.

Electrical safety

Plug into a properly grounded outlet. Keep the cord and motor base dry and away from sinks, and use a GFCI-protected outlet near water. Never immerse the motor housing. Do not use the grinder if the cord or plug is damaged.

Hands away from the feed opening

Unplug the grinder before assembling, cleaning, or changing plates. Never push meat with your fingers. Use the food pusher, and keep long hair, loose sleeves, and jewelry clear of moving parts.

Boneless meat only

The grinder is for boneless meat prepared as described in the product materials. Trim away bone, gristle, and as much sinew and silver skin as you can, because they are the most common cause of jams.

Jams and the reverse function

If the grinder jams, switch it off first, then use the reverse function to back the obstruction out. Unplug before you reach in or take any part off. Do not force the machine.

Give it rest

“Continuous-duty” describes how the motor is built. It does not mean it can run endlessly. Follow the run and rest guidance in your instructions, and stop if the unit becomes unusually hot, smells, or sounds different.

Not a toy

This is an adult kitchen appliance, not a children’s product. Keep it, its cord, and its sharp parts out of the reach of children, and never leave it plugged in and unattended.

Stop using and contact us if: the cord, plug, or housing is damaged; parts are cracked or loose; the unit sparks, smokes, or shocks you; or it will not stop when switched off. Unplug it, keep it away from others, and email support@culirock.com.

Food safety

Grinding fresh meatis a food-safety job too.

Grinding spreads any bacteria on the surface of a cut through the whole batch, so handling and cooking matter. These points follow U.S. government food-safety guidance from the USDA and FoodSafety.gov safe minimum temperature chart.

Keep it cold

Start with well-chilled meat and keep it refrigerated until you grind. Chilled meat also grinds more cleanly.

Clean between batches

Wash hands, tools, and every part that touches raw meat. Do not let raw meat juices touch cooked or ready-to-eat food.

Game meat

If you process venison or other wild game, follow your state wildlife agency’s guidance, including any testing it recommends for your area.

Selling what you make

Federal and state food rules may require licensing, inspection, or labeling if you sell meat or sausage. Those duties belong to the food seller, so check with your state department of agriculture or health department.

What we claim, and what we do not

Honest claims aboutmaterials and approvals.

Customers should be able to trust every safety statement on our site. Here is our approach to the claims shoppers care about most.

What we say

  • The specifications in the table above: a 1200W continuous-duty motor, a reverse function, three plates, and two included attachments.
  • Care instructions: plastic parts are dishwasher-safe, and the metal blade and plates should be washed by hand.
  • That the grinder is made for household use and boneless meat.

What we do not say without proof

  • We do not say the product is FDA-approved. The FDA does not approve kitchen appliances.
  • We do not claim a safety listing or certification mark, such as UL, ETL, or NSF, unless it appears on the product page or on the unit itself.
  • We do not make “Made in USA,” “BPA-free,” “PFAS-free,” or “non-toxic” claims unless we can document them.
  • We do not promise that the grinder can handle bone, frozen meat, or commercial volumes.

Ask for documentation. If you want to know how a specific claim is supported, or want to see a test report or certification for your unit, email support@culirock.com with SKU RAF-GRINDER-001. We will answer in writing, and if we cannot support a statement, we will correct it on our site.

U.S. federal and state rules

The rules that applyto a household grinder.

Ilias Ventures LLC is the seller of the grinder and is responsible for selling a product that meets the U.S. requirements that apply to it. Select a topic to see how each area applies.

  • Consumer Product Safety Act (15 U.S.C. section 2051 and following). The CPSC oversees the safety of most consumer products, including household appliances, and can order recalls and stop sales of unsafe products.
  • Duty to report (section 15(b)). A seller must report to the CPSC if it learns that a product fails to meet a mandatory safety rule, contains a defect that could create a substantial product hazard, or creates an unreasonable risk of serious injury or death. The report is due within 24 hours of obtaining that information. We follow this rule.
  • Not a children’s product. The grinder is designed for adults, so children’s product rules such as the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act requirements for children’s items do not apply to it.
  • Check recalls. Current recalls are listed at cpsc.gov/Recalls.
  • The United States has no single federal certification law for household appliances, but safety standards for electric kitchen appliances are published by bodies such as UL. Retailers and many customers look for a recognized test mark.
  • As stated above, we show a safety certification mark only if it is on the product page or on the unit. We do not rely on a mark we cannot document.
  • Appliances that contain electronics may also have to meet Federal Communications Commission rules on radio-frequency emissions where they apply.
  • Household meat grinders are not among the products with a federal energy-efficiency standard from the Department of Energy.
  • The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the FDA’s food-contact rules (21 C.F.R. parts 170 to 189) require that materials that touch food, such as the plates, blade, and feed parts, are safe for that use and do not pass harmful substances into food. See the FDA food-contact guidance.
  • The FDA does not “approve” finished appliances. We never describe the grinder as FDA-approved.
  • Use the grinder only as described. Metal parts that are not washed and dried properly can rust, so dry them after hand washing.
  • FTC Act, section 5. Our product and safety claims must be truthful, not misleading, and supported by evidence. See ftc.gov.
  • Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (16 C.F.R. parts 701 and 702). Our two-year limited warranty is available to read before you buy on the Warranty page.
  • Implied warranties and product liability. State law, including the Uniform Commercial Code, gives buyers implied promises that goods are fit for ordinary use, and state product-liability law holds sellers responsible for injuries caused by defective products. Some states do not allow limits on implied warranties, and where that applies to you, our limits do not apply.

States add their own product-safety, chemical, and consumer-protection rules. The main ones relevant to a household appliance are below, and we apply the stronger protection to every customer.

State Rule How it applies
California Proposition 65 (Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act); Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act; Business & Professions Code section 17200 If a product requires a Proposition 65 warning, we show it on the product page before purchase. See p65warnings.ca.gov. A Proposition 65 warning does not mean a product is unsafe or violates a safety standard.
New York General Business Law sections 349 and 350 Bars deceptive claims and false advertising. Report concerns to the New York Attorney General.
Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Business & Commerce Code chapter 17 Protects Texans from false or misleading product claims. Contact the Texas Attorney General.
Florida Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, section 501.201 and following Our business mailing address is in Florida, so this law applies to our conduct. Complaints go to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
Maine, Minnesota, Colorado, Vermont, Connecticut, and others State laws that restrict intentionally added PFAS in certain products, such as cookware These laws change quickly. We make no PFAS-related claim that we cannot document, and we will respond to any customer request for information.
Washington, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and others State consumer-protection and chemical-safety laws, such as the Washington Consumer Protection Act and Massachusetts chapter 93A These set a minimum standard for every order we ship to those states.

Find your state attorney general at naag.org/find-my-ag.

  • Direct shipping. Orders ship directly from our reliable overseas partner supplier to your U.S. address. As the seller, we are responsible for making sure the product meets U.S. requirements. Timings are in our Shipping Policy.
  • Inspect on arrival. Check your grinder for damage when it arrives. If it is damaged, defective, or incorrect, do not use it and contact us right away.
  • End of life. Do not put an old electric appliance in household trash if your state or town has electronics or small-appliance recycling rules. Check with your local waste authority.
